Messy crop, tanned skin, eyeliner, tongue stud, leather stilettos. How else can you work it for everyone back home?

Take a Picture

We had a dinner party tonight with friends from Uni. Most of you will recognise them by now as they have all appeared in my blog before. This was a photo-sharing dinner party; the guests come and eat, and later share their photos from their trips during the last tuition-free week.
Catarina and Therese shared photos from their trip up north to Ex Mouth and Monkey Mia, Tim & Gayle showed their pictures from Bali, and Michelle showed her pictures from Melbourne. Michelle was constantly lauded that night for her excellent Asian fare and I think you will be able to tell from the next picture exactly how happy she was!

Tim and I apparently in an interesting conversation; with me practically rolling my eyes at his story of how he crashed someone's birthday party the night before, got drunk, smashed a glass door in the birthday girl's house, and escaped with a few battle scars to boot:

We plan to have more parties like this one, and hopefully we get to to it at their dorms the next time just to see what it's like. I'm all for it, as long as I don't have to clean up again the morning after! But I thought it was a pretty good deal this time: Michelle cooks, I clean the house and the guests brought 6 bottles of booze. Woohoo!

Sweet Little Rock 'n' Roller

Tim came over last night to hang out, with a Playstation II and a bunch of DVDs from Bali in tow. And he cooked us dinner out of the goodness of his heart. Well maybe not. It was mainly cos I asked him to but the fact is that he obliged!

Here's the pasta dinner he made:

And of course, Michelle had to catch us when we're stuffing our faces:

Verdict: the food was yum, the movies were good and it was an enjoyable night.

Champagne Wishes & Caviar Dreams

Michelle's ex-boyfriend texted me on my mobile Thursday morning, hoping to get a delivery in by her birthday on Friday. Unfortunately, he wasn't aware that she was in Melbourne and would only return Monday. I gave the guy our address and I promised to keep Michelle at home for the day with the diddle that I was waiting for a package to arrive from my Mum.

So this is what Laurent sent; a bouquet of pink lilies, a bottle of Veuve Cliquot and a little fuzzy gorilla:

And the little gorilla now called Mr. Alessio in honour of Laurent:

In appreciation for ensuring that she received the delivery, Michelle picked me a cute bunch of flowers and left them on my desk today:

Honey, I'm Home!

Since I had a little time today, I decided to fulfill a promise to post up a few pictures of my apartment.
Obviously, I'm still alone at home because Michelle will only be back from Melbourne later tonight so the pictures are gonna look a little stark.

This is our front porch (taken from inside the house cos I'm not one to muck around outside alone):
Our Porch

Our unit's car port is between the red and white cars. It's a tricky spot for our friends to manoeuvre into, between the two poles, but nobody's banged up their car yet:

The control panel for our alarm system. And a noisy alarm system it is:

Now let me start the walkthrough of our apartment. Note that we have three doors, one front door where Michelle and I always enter from, and two large side entrances accessed from the car port. One side entrance leads into my bedroom, and the larger one leads into the living room where we usually welcome our guests. Let's start our tour from this "guest's entrance".

Our Living Room. We'd like to thank Russell for helping us transport all our shit from Target, including that nifty red beanbag chair. I'm sure he had as much fun on that turntable as we did:

Our dining nook, the home of wonderful meals such as this lamb dinner. Michelle prepared this for us because I was working non-stop on my Journo paper and she took pity on me when she discovered that I was neglecting my meals:

Of course, you gotta have some nice mementos to create dinner conversation, and to hide the tissue box:

Between the living room and dining table is my workstation:

How could a workstation be complete without pictures of the family back home, and a postcard from Michelle in Melbourne?

Our, umm, pantry a.k.a. the drawer of food. Notice the stealthily hidden bottle of Malibu in the top-left corner:

Our bachelorette's fridge. We've been told it's abnormal for two women to have so much beer in the fridge. Pfft! I'd like to thank Sheeda & Mark for making that possible:

Second door to your right is Michelle's bedroom. Yes, she has a bigger room and bigger bed. But the entire living room is my study, therefore she can't watch TV when she wants to. So there!

Last but not least, at the end of the corridor, is the most important place,
